Peipin
is peacefully situated in the middle of the splendid countryside of
the Lure mountain and the Durance plain.
At the village summit, at the top of the hill overlooking the plain,
you will see the ruins of a medieval ancient chateau-fort surrounded
by oak trees, olives and box
woods.
There
is a magnificent view of the surrounding plains, the Lure mountain
and village. You will notice that the village streets wind upwards
from the "place de l'église", you will also see the main
road which is the only one crossing the village in a straight line
( it follows the same route as the old "voie Domitienne"
).
While
visiting Peipin, don't miss the "Bons Enfants" hamlet where
you will discover an old bridge of medieval origin which crosses the
Jabron. Take advantage of this delightful spot to stroll around the
Jabron valley, it's superb ! |
