Located at the gateway to the Mercantour, National Park at the confluence of the Tuébi and the Aigue Blanche valley, the village of Péone clings to a group of picturesque rocky outcrops called the "Demoiselles". The village is a typical example of a medieval mountain village. Its narrow streets are charming with their vaulted passageways, worn stepped streets, half-timbered houses and a variety of trompe l'oeil façades from numerous era. The surrounding countryside is a walkers paradise, in winter the superb ski resort of Valberg is only a stones throw away and the landscapes attract numerous para-gliders.
