Hiking in Provence

Would you like to discover a sumptuous and luminous natural environment? A short family walk on a Sunday? A long trek lasting several days with an organised bivouac? Then this is the page for you!

Provence: a hiking paradise

Sentier du littoral de Cassis

Whatever your tastes and style, there are a thousand and one trails in Provence that will take you hiking and allow you to appreciate the vast collection of natural landscapes in Provence and the Côte d'Azur.

Soaring peaks, peaceful conifer forests, lush green valleys, fragrant hills, refreshing rivers...

Protected nature parks, protected flora and fauna, charming hilltop villages - the palette is endless, with the added bonus of exceptional light and climate (300 days of sunshine a year).

Find your hiking itinerary on Provence Web

Choose your itinerary: there are several thousand kilometres of signposted footpaths for all levels and lengths of hike. On Provence Web you'll find the long-distance footpaths (more than 6 GR in the region) that cross each département, but there are also several hundred kilometres of short-distance footpaths carefully signposted by each département (but too many to list here).

You can set off simply with the help of a map, or be accompanied by a professional guide who will have carefully prepared everything for you.

The Tourist Offices have listed and maintained unusual walking routes. You can also read our article on the 6 most beautiful family walks in Provence here.
