Spa and balneotherapy centres are places offering fitness, well-being and beauty care services. |
 They are usually in hotels and provide identical equipment and care to thalassotherapy centres but on a smaller scale, and medical supervision is not provided systematically.
They mainly use fresh water (unlike thalassos where sea water is used) to which they may add marine products (mud, seaweed, etc).
The equipment and treatment concepts on offer differ depending on the centres, and vary according to the prestige and luxury of the hotels: indoor and/or outdoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, spas…
 Most of them use aromatherapy as a foundation and/or take an Oriental philosophy or technique as their inspiration, both zen and hedonist. By skilfully combining hydrotherapy care (water treatments) with therapies that are all the rage, each fitness centre has its own character and specific features, but they are all trying to do one thing; bring you well-being, peace of mind and recharge your batteries.
