Flassan is a pleasant village set into the slopes of Mont Ventoux. As soon as you arrive, you will immediately be seduced by the ochre facades of the houses that give Flassan its picturesque character.
In the heart of the village the romanesque Notre Dame church is something of a curiosity, with its 13th century transept restored in the 70's.
The most impressive part is to be found below the church's paved floor: a crypt containing ancient vaults.
With only 400 inhabitants, the village seems like one big family. Everyone knows everyone here. The village's main resources are agriculture followed by tourism.
Flassan is the meeting point for hikers who set off from here on the different trails leading up
Mont Ventoux.
It goes without saying that the scenery around Flassan is absolutely superb. In particular, follow the small secondary road, the D217, which will bring you as far as
Sault and enable you to enjoy some superb countryside with many magnificent views along the way.
Careful!: do not confuse Flassan with
Flassans, another pretty little Provencal village located in the
Var department !
