Villar d'Arène is reached by taking the beautiful road climbing up to Col du Lautaret, between dizzying rocky crags and high peaks in excess of 3,000 metres, including the mythical Meije at more than 3,900 metres and its eternal snows.
Villar d'Arène is located in the Ecrins National Park, after Col du Lautaret. It's a peaceful little mountain village, proud of its church built from yellow stone which faces onto a pretty square with a fountain.
