How long does it take to visit Eze?
A complete tour of Eze village takes between 2 and 4 hours, depending on your interests. Half a day is enough to see the main attractions of the village: the medieval streets, the Church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, and a few craft shops.
Allow at least 1.5 hours if you include a visit to the exotic garden. This is a must-see to enjoy the panorama from the castle ruins. Photography enthusiasts will particularly appreciate the views of the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula.
For a more in-depth exploration, plan to spend a whole day. You can explore the art galleries, have lunch on a terrace, and walk down to Eze-sur-Mer via the Nietzsche Trail. This 2-kilometer hike offers magnificent views of the coast and takes about 45 minutes to descend.

We recommend arriving before 10 a.m. to enjoy the narrow streets and avoid the crowds of tourists during the day.

The exotic garden of Eze
The exotic garden is the main attraction with its exceptional panorama of the French Riviera and the Mediterranean Sea. Located at the top of the village in the ruins of the old castle, it houses a remarkable collection of cacti and succulents.

The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption
This 18th-century neoclassical church is dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption and has been listed as a historic monument since 1984. Its yellow façade stands out beautifully against the stone landscape.
The baroque interior contrasts with the neoclassical exterior. You will discover typical Baroque trompe-l'œil effects with real and fake windows.

The village is a maze of cobbled alleyways and vaulted passageways where you will find artists' studios, art galleries, and souvenir shops. Every corner reveals architectural details that have been preserved since the Middle Ages.
The old castle houses have been converted into luxury hotels and gourmet restaurants. The 14th-century postern gate marks the historic entrance to the fortified village.

A viewpoint accessible after only a 10-minute walk offers a superb panorama of the village of Eze, the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula, and the sea from the Fort de la Révère.
