Provence is one of France's most popular destinations for flea markets and antique markets.
Every Sunday, dozens of events take place across the region: flea markets on Avenue Aristide Briand in Toulon, flea markets in Eygalières, garage sales in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, and flea markets in Carpentras. Spring marks the true start of the season, with a packed schedule beginning in April. Whether you’re looking for a vintage gem, an antique, or simply the atmosphere of a village garage sale, Provence has plenty to keep you busy every weekend of your stay.
Before heading out to hunt for treasures, there’s one essential step: check an up-to-date calendar. Dates change, some events are canceled without notice, and the best flea markets fill up with vendors well before opening.
In this article, you’ll find the region’s must-visit markets, top picks by destination, and everything you need to know to plan your day of bargain hunting in Provence.

What are the best flea markets in Provence?
The answer depends on what you're looking for. For serious antiques, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is the undisputed top choice. Ranked third in Europe for the antiques and secondhand goods trade, the town attracts collectors from around the world to its two annual fairs. The next edition will take place from April 2 to 6, 2026, at Parc Gautier, with approximately 500 exhibitors and over 100,000 visitors expected. Admission is free. The parking lot fills up quickly—plan to arrive early.
Beyond the major fairs, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue remains a destination in its own right: the town boasts 250 permanent shops specializing in antiques, art, and home decor. Every Sunday morning, a Provençal market joins the flea market on Avenue des Quatre Otages. It’s a combination hard to beat for a day of bargain hunting.
For neighborhood garage sales and a more down-to-earth atmosphere, other spots are worth a visit. The Carpentras flea market has been held every Sunday in the Platanes parking lot downtown since 2000, with an average of 180 vendors each Sunday. In Roquebrune-sur-Argens, the flea market at the Arena grounds is also held every Sunday. In Aix-en-Provence, the flea market at Place de Verdun takes place several times a week. And for fans of vintage items or toy and baby goods fairs, the event calendars by department remain the best tool for finding the event that fits your trip
How to participate in a flea market in Provence?
Do you have items to sell and want to try your hand at being an exhibitor? It’s easier than it seems. Most flea markets and garage sales in the region are organized by local associations. Simply contact them directly to reserve a booth.
Registration information can be found on event listing sites such as vide-greniers.org or francebrocante.fr: each event lists the organizer’s contact information, the booth fee, and the terms of participation. Be sure to register in advance—large garage sales are often fully booked several weeks before the date.
As for regulations, an individual may participate in this type of event a maximum of twice a year without registering with the Chamber of Commerce. Beyond that, you fall under the professional category. For regular exhibitors, some associations offer annual memberships that facilitate access to the events they organize throughout the year.
We hope you find some great treasures to decorate your home or add to your collections!
