Where is the tourist office?

Le Paradou does not have a tourist office in the village itself. The nearest tourist office is in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Place Jean Jaurès.

Saint-Rémy is about 10 km from Le Paradou. It takes 15 minutes to get there by car via the D99.

Where to park in Paradou?

Parking can be difficult during the tourist season. The village attracts many visitors in the summer. All the parking lots in Le Paradou are indicated on our map at the top of this page. They are easy to find thanks to the pictograms.

There are a few free spaces in the town center. They fill up quickly in the morning. Arrive early if you come on market day.

Restaurants such as the “Bistrot du Paradou” sometimes offer parking for their customers. Ask when you make your reservation.

In high season, park in Maussane-les-Alpilles. This neighboring village is less than 2 km away. You can reach Le Paradou on foot or by bike via the Alpilles canal.

What are the must-see places?

“La Petite Provence du Paradou” is a must-see. This unique museum brings together nearly 400 santons (figurines) over 500 m². The works are made by the best santon makers in France.

The Saint-Martin church dates back to the 10th century. It was partially rebuilt in 1632. It is listed as a Historic Monument along with the cemetery cross.

The Castillon Towers dominate the village from above. These medieval ruins offer an exceptional view of the valley. Originally numbering four, these towers were built between the 11th and 13th centuries.

The bust of the poet Charloun Rieu stands on the fountain in front of the town hall. This peasant poet, born in Le Paradou in 1846, was a friend of Frédéric Mistral.

Don't miss the Bistrot du Paradou for lunch. Charles Aznavour had his favorite table there.

How to get to Le Paradou?

By car, you can reach Le Paradou via the A7 and A54 motorways. From Marseille, it takes about an hour via the A54 and then the D99. From Avignon, take the A7 and then the N570.

The nearest TGV station is Avignon TGV, located about 35 km away. From there, you will need to take a bus or rent a car.

Bus line 702 connects Arles to Salon-de-Provence via Le Paradou. It also serves Fontvieille and Maussane-les-Alpilles.

Marseille Provence Airport is about 70 kilometers away. You can rent a car directly at the airport. The journey takes about 1 hour.

Cyclists can take the bike paths along the Alpilles canal. A pleasant, shaded route leads you to the village.
