How long does it take to visit Vidauban?
Allow two hours for the town center. It’s a wine-growing town, not a hilltop village: the terrain is flat and distances are short. Add half a day to hike up to the Sainte-Brigitte Chapel, on the hill overlooking the plain. You’ll need a full day to explore the Astros estate and the Plaine des Maures. On Sunday mornings, the market takes up a good portion of the town center.

Where is the tourist office located?
The tourist information center is located at 56 Avenue du Président Wilson, a few minutes’ walk from the town hall square. The office is operated by Dracénie Provence Verdon Agglomération. There you’ll find brochures on hiking trails, events, and wineries. Hours vary by season—call ahead before visiting.

Parking can be tricky during peak season. In July and August, downtown spots fill up quickly, and Sundays present the same problem due to the market. All of Vidauban’s parking lots are marked on our map. Good news: parking remains free almost everywhere.

Les Marronniers remains the safest option during busy periods. The Sainte-Brigitte parking lot serves as the starting point for the climb to the chapel.
What are the must-see sights?
The Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste marks the start of the tour. Its pink façade is visible from afar, and its hexagonal bell tower, built in 1898, features a statue of the Virgin Mary. The Sainte-Brigitte Chapel sits on the hill overlooking the plain: this is the site of the original village, abandoned around the 15th century, and a procession takes place there every Easter Monday.
The Astros Castles estate is located on the road to Lorgues. The site includes an old castle, a Templar commandery, and a listed avenue of plane trees, where Yves Robert filmed part of the movie Château de ma mère. Further south, the Plaine des Maures Nature Reserve spans 5,276 hectares and is home to one of the last refuges for Hermann’s tortoise in France.
How to get to Vidauban?
Driving is still the easiest option. Vidauban is located on the RDN 7, the former National Route 7: from the A8, take the exit for Le Muy to the east, or for Le Cannet-des-Maures and Le Luc to the west. It’s 63 km from Toulon, 88 km from Nice, and 92 km from Aix-en-Provence, with the coast just 25 km away. By train, the Arcs–Draguignan station is 5 km away, on the TGV Méditerranée line. The Toulon-Hyères and Nice airports are each about 100 kilometers away.
