What are the must-see places?

La Croisette and the Palais des Festivals

An integral part of Cannes' identity, the Boulevard de la Croisette is a long seaside promenade. Bordered on one side by the bay of Cannes, palm trees and pine trees, and on the other by luxury boutiques and magnificent palaces, it runs along the beaches for 3 kilometers.

Every year in May, the Palais des Festivals hosts the Cannes Film Festival. The famous red carpet steps are photographed by thousands of journalists. Walk along the Chemin des Étoiles, where more than 140 handprints of the biggest movie stars are molded into the ground.

Le Suquet, the historic heart

Listed as a historic monument, the Suquet district is the oldest part of Cannes. Nestled on a small hill, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city, its bay, the Lérins Islands, the Croisette, and the old port.

This authentic neighborhood immerses you in the history of the old fishing town. You can visit the Notre-Dame d'Espérance church and enjoy spectacular views from the top of the hill.

The Lérins Islands

Off the coast of Cannes are the Lérins Islands, accessible by boat from the old port. These islands are home to unspoiled landscapes, magnificent beaches, and the Lérins Abbey. Sainte-Marguerite Island is known for the cell of the Man in the Iron Mask, while Saint-Honorat Island is home to the Cistercian monastery.

No visit to Cannes is complete without a trip to the Forville Market, a true gourmet journey with a southern accent. Located in the heart of Cannes, it opens its doors every morning. Here you will discover local produce: fresh fish, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and traditional socca.
