The Château de la Napoule

The Château de la Napoule is the town's main attraction. A former medieval fortress rising out of the sea with its red stones and towers, it was completely restored by Henry and Marie Clews, an American artist couple.

Built right by the sea in 1387 by the Counts of Villeneuve, the castle now houses a museum and remarkable gardens. Marie's gardens complement the neo-medieval architecture of the Château de La Napoule with their different atmospheres: Moorish, Venetian, and Roman gardens.

Guided tours are available at 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Full price: $7 per person for the guided tour of the interior of the castle and the gardens.

San Peyre Nature Park

By train
