Where can I park in Grignan?
Parking is difficult during peak season, especially on weekends. Grignan’s historic center is pedestrian-only, which means you’ll need to park on the outskirts.
The most accessible parking lots are located at Place du Mail at the western entrance to the village, and at Les Grands Prés on the eastern side, on Route de Taulignan. They are free and just a few minutes’ walk from the castle. All these locations are marked on our interactive map on this page.

The village boasts a remarkable heritage concentrated in a very compact area. Here are the highlights:
Grignan Castle: the highlight of any visit. This Renaissance castle hosted Madame de Sévigné in the 17th century. The terraces offer a panoramic view of Mont Ventoux, the Rhône River, and the Baronnies region.
Saint-Sauveur Collegiate Church: built between 1535 and 1542, it houses the tomb of the Marquise de Sévigné.
The belfry: a tower of the former 13th-century Porte du Tricot, raised in 1600 to house the first public clock.
The Rochecourbière Grotto: a natural site on the outskirts of the village, linked to the legend of Madame de Sévigné.
The Old Roses Trail: Grignan is also a botanical village with over 400 rose bushes representing 150 varieties.
The Printing and Typography Workshop-Museum: a cultural attraction not to be missed.
From the castle terraces, you can see Mont Ventoux to the southeast, the Rhône to the west, and the Nyons mountains to the east.
How to get to Grignan?
By car, Grignan is accessible via the A7 highway. From the north, take the Montélimar Sud exit (No. 18), then the RN7 toward Avignon and the D133 toward Grignan. From the south, the Bollène exit (No. 19) takes you toward Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux and Grignan. This is the most convenient option for visiting the village and the surrounding area.
By train, the nearest TGV station is Montélimar, about 50 kilometers away. Bus lines then serve Grignan from the Montélimar station. The nearest airports are Lyon Saint-Exupéry (190 km), Avignon (80 km), and Marseille-Provence (158 km).
