Faucon
Situated 7 km north-east of Vaison la Romaine via the D46.

Faucon is situated on the northern border of Vaucluse, in a peaceful setting, opposite Mont Ventoux. Its hillside location gives it an unrivalled view of the mountain and the Pre-Alps.
To visit the village, take the Avenue de la Republique. It leads into the heart of the village and the Place des Tilleuls. Best leave your car here and continue on foot. You will discover a village where most of the houses have been built using local stone. This architectural unity gives the village a distinctive character.

Above the Place des Tilleuls, next to the church is the Rue du Belvedere. This street takes you to a medieval archway that overlooks the valley and offers a magnificent view of the north face of Mont Ventoux. A Provencal market is held every Saturday and Wednesday afternoon. Also, don't miss the regional produce market that is held here once a month.
There are still a few traditions alive in the village, e.g.: the communal baker's oven that remains open every summer for inhabitants who want to use it to cook their dishes or bake their bread.

There is a lovely walk for nature lovers just outside the village on the Mérindol Les Oliviers road, after the Gournier bridge. While enjoying the superb scenery around Faucon, take the time to visit some of the fine country chapels in the area.
