Where is the Ceyreste tourist office located?

The Ceyreste tourist information office is located at the town hall, Place du Général-de-Gaulle, 13600 Ceyreste. It’s right in the center of the village and easy to find.

You’ll find maps and information there. Be sure to check the opening hours before you go. The town hall is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There is a bus stop directly across from the town hall square. It is also the ideal starting point for beginning your walking tour.

Where to park in Ceyreste?

Parking in the center of Ceyreste can be difficult during the summer season. It’s best to arrive early in the morning to find a spot without any hassle.

Two main parking lots are available near the center:

  • The Place des Héros parking lot, located at 8-15 Place des Héros, near the post office.

  • The multipurpose hall parking lot on Chemin des Peupliers, equipped with phone booths and located near downtown.

What are the must-see sights in Ceyreste?

The village packs several points of interest into a very small area. Here are the highlights:

  • The Roman fountain: the village’s iconic monument and a central landmark, despite its name not matching the actual period of its construction.

  • Place Cupif and the former town hall, featuring the coat of arms of Saint-Victor Abbey.

  • The Roman arched fountain with an inscription, on Rue Louis Cruvellier.

  • The arched and covered passageways known as “cabarotes,” the cobblestone alleys, and the medieval city gates.

  • The tower known as the “Moulin des Maures” and the ruins of the castle and city walls.

  • The Château Le Delta, a former residence built by the shipowner Jeanselme, with its small tower used to monitor the arrival and departure of his ships.

The local culinary specialties are also worth a visit: the torque (an anise-flavored brioche) and the galette ceyrestenne, a variation of the pompe à huile.

How to get to Ceyreste?

By car, from Marseille, take the A50 highway and exit at exit 9 “La Ciotat”. From Toulon, take the A50 and exit at exit 10, “Saint-Cyr-les-Lecques.” Ceyreste is located just north of La Ciotat, a few minutes from these exits.

By train, the La Ciotat SNCF station is the closest, served by the Marseille-Toulon-Hyères TER line. From the station, a bus will take you to Ceyreste in just a few minutes.

The nearest airport is Marseille-Marignane, about 50 kilometers away. From there, the train remains the most convenient way to reach La Ciotat and then Ceyreste.
