Parking in Velaux

Parking in Velaux is regulated in the old town center with blue zones. The maximum parking time is 1.5 hours from Monday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free parking discs can be obtained from the municipal police.

Must-see sites in Velaux

The archaeological site of Roquepertuse is the main attraction. This ancient Gallic city, occupied from the 5th to the 2nd century BC, overlooks the Arc valley. A free audio guide accompanies your visit. The sculptures found here are on display at the Marseille History Museum.

The Tour Musée houses the archaeological collections of Velaux. Its panoramic terrace offers a beautiful view. Open Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in July and August).

The Saint-Trophime Church dates back to 1625. The Place François Caire with its fountain forms the heart of the village. The Moulin de Velaux produces local olive oil and sells artisanal products.

Getting to Velaux

By car, Velaux is 30 minutes from Marseille via the A7 and 25 minutes from Aix-en-Provence via the RD 20.

By train, the nearest station is in Rognac (4 km). From Marseille Saint-Charles, take the TER to Rognac then bus line 12. Total journey time: 1 hour.

By bus, line 12 serves the “Maison Médicale” stop in the center of Velaux.
