Map of Vinon-sur-Verdon and must-see sites

The Vinon-sur-Verdon tourist map lets you spot the must-see sites of this Haut-Var village at a glance. Vinon occupies a strategic position at the confluence of the Verdon and Durance rivers, at the crossroads of four departments: Var, Bouches-du-Rhône, Vaucluse, and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. On our map below, you’ll find the old village perched on its rocky outcrop, the town center, the gliding airfield, the municipal campground, and the main roads. Vinon is also the gateway to the Verdon Gorges. A modest village in size, but well-positioned for exploring the entire region.

How long does it take to visit Vinon-sur-Verdon?

Allow half a day to explore the old village on foot. The historic town center can easily be covered in an hour or two.

Stroll through the old alleyways, climb up to the viewpoint overlooking the valley, and take a break on the avenue shaded by plane trees. These plane trees have a history: the plane trees on Vinon’s promenade are said to have been gifted by shepherds from Arles in the 18th century, when the village was a stopover on the transhumance route.

If you add a nature activity—canoeing on the Verdon, gliding, hiking—plan for a full day. The Sunday morning market is also worth a visit.
