For information specifically about Bédarrides, contact the town hall. It is located on Grande rue Charles de Gaulle. The municipal staff can advise you on places to visit and local events.

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape tourist office is also nearby. It is only 6 kilometers from the village.

Parking in Bédarrides

Parking can be difficult during the high season. In summer, spaces are scarce in the center. Fortunately, there are several parking lots available.

The quai de l'Ouvèze car park is one of the most convenient. It is located near the Roman bridge and the riverbanks. The Cours Bouquimard car park also offers good parking spaces.

During quiet periods, you will easily find parking in the streets of the center. Just avoid market days, when parking becomes very difficult.

For motorhomes, there is a parking area on Chemin des Sences. It has four spaces. Parking is free, but the service terminal is currently out of order.

Must-see places in Bédarrides

The Saint-Laurent church dominates the center of the village. Listed as a Historic Monument, it dates from the 17th century. It was in this church that the annexation of the Comtat Venaissin to France was signed in 1791.

You can admire paintings by Nicolas Mignard and Joseph Aubanel. The Henri II chapel is also worth a visit. The church portal is particularly elaborate.

The Roman bridge over the Ouvèze is another iconic site. Rebuilt in the 17th century after a flood, it bears a stone cross from Pernes. The view from the bridge over the riverbanks is very pleasant.

The old city gates bear witness to the medieval past. The Sainte Croix gate, on Place du 4 Septembre, marks the entrance to the Grand Rue. It is surrounded by two centuries-old plane trees.

The Pousterlon and Comtat Venaissin gates complete this heritage. They once connected the old town center to the Ouvèze riverbank. There is also a covered fountain in the village.

The banks of the seven rivers offer beautiful walks. Picnic areas and a fitness trail have been created. Nature remains very present in Bédarrides despite its proximity to towns.

How to get to Bédarrides

Bédarrides is very accessible by car. The A7 motorway crosses the town from north to south. Take the Avignon Nord or Orange Sud exit depending on where you are coming from.

The village is located about 12 kilometers from Avignon. Allow 15 minutes for the journey. Orange and Carpentras are also 15-20 minutes away by car.

Several departmental roads serve the village. The D192 leads to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The D907 connects to Sorgues in the south. The D52 goes to Sarrians in the northeast.

By train, the Bédarrides station is located on Avenue de la Gare. It is served by the TER PACA on the Marseille-Lyon line. Trains connect Avignon-Centre to Lyon-Perrache or Lyon-Part-Dieu.

The station has ticket machines. There is no ticket office on site. Parking is difficult around the station.

By bus, the TransVaucluse 2.1 line serves the village. It connects Avignon to Orange. You can buy your tickets at the Maison de la Presse, 7 Avenue de la Gare.
