Discover the small village of Lafare in the Vaucluse

Lafare is a charming village situated right in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Facing the eastern slope of the jagged ridge, which it seems to watch over, this small village features charming, steep narrow streets.

The village consists of just a few houses and is home to barely 110 residents. Yet it is by no means a deserted village, as Lafare serves as the starting point for numerous hikes to the Dentelles de Montmirail. To reach them, take a small road to the north that first descends into the ravine and then climbs back up toward the Dentelles.

On the left, a hiking trail leads in 5 minutes to an unexpected waterfall, set in this arid landscape amidst the gorges.

On the cliffs of La Salle, a lovely view unfolds before you, featuring the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Dentelles Sarrasines. After the final hairpin turn, you’ll have a stunning view of the valley; to the right, a path leads to the Saint Christophe Chapel and is well worth a detour.
