It's often very hot in the Alpilles, from April to October. We therefore recommend that you treat yourself to a chambre d'hôtes with swimming pool. You'll be able to relax even during the hottest hours of the day, and feel like you're on vacation with a little luxury you don't have at home.

WHERE TO GO IN THE ALPILLES?
The Alpilles region boasts a number of beautiful villages, including St Rémy de Provence, Les Baux de Provence, Eygalières and Maussane les Alpilles. We advise you to visit the most famous villages, but also to linger in lesser-known ones like Graveson or Mouriès, where you'll discover some very pleasant villages, with a little less crowding in summer.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CHAMBRE D'HÔTE AND A GÎTE?
Simply put, a gîte is a house that is made available to you, while a chambre d'hôte is one or more rooms within a house. In both cases, you'll be offered breakfast on the premises, and often lunch and dinner (check with each chambre d'hôte). This is a great opportunity to meet and chat with local people who can advise you on what to visit, where to hike or where to do your shopping in the area around your B&B. It's very useful when you don't know the area very well.
