Your questions about Sillans and its waterfall.

You have sent us several questions about this charming village in the Var, here are our answers to your most frequently asked questions.

When is the best time to visit Sillans-la-Cascade?

Spring is the best time to see the Sillans waterfall: the vacation crowds have not yet arrived and the vegetation is coming back to life in its greenest coat. Between April and May, nature is fully awake and the waterfall is often at its strongest flow thanks to the rains. It is the ideal season for photography, with vivid colors and fewer people. Summer is still an option, but be ready for heavier tourist traffic and parking lots that fill up from the morning.

Where can you swim near the waterfall?

Swimming in the main pool beneath the waterfall is prohibited, but you can swim further downstream. Small natural pools let visitors cool off safely in the marked areas downstream. These natural basins along the Bresque river offer refreshing turquoise water away from the bustle. Access is via a separate trail from the Remparts parking lots, and visitors are asked to follow the site's conservation rules.

What do visitors say about Sillans-la-Cascade?

Most of our readers have told us how satisfied they were with their visit. The waterfall gets the most praise, but so does the medieval village. For the full experience, plan to see both. Older visitors appreciate that the path to the waterfall is well maintained. Some have complained about the number of tourists at the height of summer.
