Discover the pretty Verdon village of Bauduen

Located on the banks of the pure and calm waters of Lake Sainte Croix, the old medieval village of Bauduen rises in an arc from a hill facing the lake of Sainte Croix, which gives it a magnificent panoramic view. Bauduen is one of the remarkable sites of the Verdon Natural Park of which it is a part and which deserves a stop.

A charming Provencal village in the Haut Var

Bauduen is a typically Provençal Village, with its narrow streets which will charm your visit. By walking in the shaded and pedestrian streets for the most part, you will discover the old stone houses of the village which offer a beautiful unity of colors of roofs.

Fountains, wash-house, sundial and beautiful houses

You will come across fountains and a pretty wash-house, charming old façades with flowered windows and colored shutters washed out by the sun. You will come across some vestiges of the ramparts and beautiful Renaissance style doors. You will pass in front of the sundial (XIX °) on which you can read "Nec pluribus impar" that is to say "Above all" which was the motto of Louis XIV, the Sun King in all his legendary modesty.

On the shores of Lac de Sainte Croix, quiet beaches

Thanks to its strategic position at the edge of the lake, Bauduen is fortunate to have beaches and a very pleasant port which delight tourists and lovers of nautical activities (windsurfing, pedalo, kayak, paddle .. .). On the Lac de Sainte Croix only electric motors are allowed. Sailboats sail all year round and bring life, summer and winter.

The Bauduen market takes place every Sunday morning on the Esplanade du Bord du Lac. It's a great opportunity to stock up on good local produce while admiring the Lac de Sainte Croix and taking a stroll around this pretty village, which is well worth a visit.
