Ilonse
70 Km from Nice, take the N202 towards Digne, then the D2205 and the D59 on the left.

Ilonse is a very beautiful village perched on a rocky out-crop which commands a magnificent view.
In the back-ground Mount Cocouluche appears to calmly watch over its inhabitants.

Whether you want to walk through the majestic forest surrounding the village or pick some of the mushrooms which grow freely in the area, visitors are truely spoilt for choice!

You will be pleasantly surprised when visiting the village by the narrow paved streets, tastefully decorated and bordered by flowers along the stairways which climb to the village summit…
You will be charmed by the archways and Gothic proches built from stone bleached over time by the sun.

Ilonse is truely worth a detour. When you stroll around the streets, you will appreciate the harmony created by the colours of the stones, the tiles, and the paving... it's easy to understand why the inhabitants of Ilonse enjoy living here and take such pleasure in caring for their villages !
