Cantaron
Cantaron is located in the winding valley of the river Paillon.
It's a small village made up of several hamlets - Cognas, Bordinas and La Begude - scattered along the banks of confluents of the Escarene river.
Surrounded by wooded hills and olive trees, overlooked by Mont de l'Ubac (652 metres, the highest point in the municipality), Cantaron is a quiet mini-village, Provencal in character.
Here you can admire old houses built from ancient yellow stones between which moss grows, vaulted passageways smothered with ivy, narrow shady streets, so pleasant in summer ... far removed from the stress of a big town.
To get a good view of the valley, you have to climb up to the charming hamlet of Cognas on the hillside, where the houses seem to be drowned in an olive grove, and in particular up to the place called "Saut de Millo" from where the view of the Mediterranean is apparently magnificent.
After that, why not carry on to the spring at Bordinas, rumoured to have miraculous properties: you never know!?
