Goult, a superb Luberon village near Gordes
Goult is a superb village in the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon that will delight lovers of old stones and beautiful nature. Carefully restored, the village boasts beautiful stone and ochre buildings. Take a minute to discover what to see, eat and sleep in Goult.
Goult's narrow streets, arcades and castle
Stroll through the narrow streets past the church and fall under the spell of its vaulted passageways, arcades and ancient doors. You'll discover the remains of ancient ramparts and the d'Agoult family castle rising out of the rock (private property, not open to visitors).
Cultivated terraces
Large squares shaded by centuries-old hackberry trees welcome you to Goult, where you can enjoy the Provencal way of life.
After this pleasant break, you can set off again to explore the village and visit the Conservatoire des Terrasses crop terraces.
Large olive groves, beautiful holm oaks and agricultural plantations framed by attractive dry-stone walls are restored and landscaped by Conservatoire volunteers. Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to admire the sumptuous landscapes surrounding these terraces - you're in the beautiful Provencal countryside.
A pretty windmill at the top of the village
At the very top of the village, you can admire the famous Moulin de Jérusalem dating from 1750. This charming windmill takes its name from the district in which it is located, which was home to many crusaders returning from the Holy Lands at the time of the Crusades. The Jerusalem windmill is regularly restored to preserve its beauty.
